Our Mission
Violence and crime among our youth continue to rise while the average age of those involved continues to fall. A disturbing fact which must be addressed by city and provincial governments...yet, so little is being done to reverse these trends.
The therapist blames the parents, the parents blame the internet and the bigot blames diversity. All agree, however, that poverty plays a major role in the restricted development of many young Canadians.
Providing support to low income families is the responsibility of our elected representatives and far beyond the scope of any individual foundation. Funds received by those living at or below the poverty level must be spent on food and shelter. There is never a surplus to expend on their childrens' emotional and physical needs...those vital assets which build character and help the youngster mature with healthy, positive values.
The Pat Marsden Foundation has been conceived to address this particular need.
