Pat was the broadcaster's broadcaster. So many of today's radio and T.V. sports commentators attribute much of their success to their exposure and training with Pat. Although outspoken in his opinions, he was always straight with his colleagues and the public, hence the high esteem with which he was held.

About the Foundation

The Pat Marsden Foundation is now being registered as a charitable foundation with a mission to provide financial help to needy kids. Funds will be used to assist in their social, cultural and physical development. So many youngsters are held back from fulfilling their dreams, as their families are unable to commit financial support. Funds from The Foundation will enable the aspiring pianist to take lessons he so desperately craves. They will provide the means for kids to participate in community activities where expenses must be incurred to join. They will help financially deprived kids to join their peers in activities where payment for participation or equipment are prerequisites to acceptance.

The foundation will be operated by volunteers until such time that sufficient funds are in place to hire staff. This is projected for under two years from registration. 100% of monies received will be allocated to charitable causes during the early operating period.

The foundation will generate revenue through traditional fund raising projects such as banquets, raffles and sporting events. The primary source of funds will be solicited through media commercials. Several leading T.V. and radio sports personalities will appear on air promoting The Foundation. Contributions from viewers, listeners and corporations will be encouraged.

Our website provides an application form for grants. These requests for funds will be submitted to a “grants review committee”, made up of Honourary Directors of The Pat Marsden Foundation. Approved applications will then be funded with appropriate safeguards to ensure that monies are being expended as promised.
